Dakota Autism Center

Dakota Autism Center is a center-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program for young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our centers are run in a preschool-like setting and our programs are designed to assist with social communication, emotional regulation, school readiness, and transitioning skills.

Apple Valley is a vibrant south-metro community of approximately 56,000 residents, known for family-friendly attractions like the Minnesota Zoo and Kelley Park. Located along Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) and County Road 42, Apple Valley provides accessible routes to Minneapolis and surrounding communities. Families here value quality education, outdoor recreation, and strong community connections — and Dakota Autism Center is here to add quality autism services to that mix.

Apple Valley students attend schools within ISD 196 (Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan), a district recognized for its commitment to student success. Our BCBAs collaborate with families to create ABA therapy programs that complement school-based supports. Whether your child is working on early communication, social skills for the classroom, or building greater independence at home, our treatment plans are designed to produce meaningful progress across all settings.

Our Minneapolis center is approximately 18 miles north of Apple Valley, reachable in about 25–35 minutes via Cedar Avenue or I-35W. Many Apple Valley families choose in-home ABA therapy for the convenience of receiving services without the commute — especially families with young children or those who live near the zoo, the Cobblestone Lake neighborhood, or the Galaxie area. EIDBI services are also available to qualifying Apple Valley families through Minnesota Medical Assistance.

Yes. Our in-home ABA team serves Apple Valley families throughout the city. A trained RBT conducts therapy sessions in your home, following an individualized plan designed and supervised by a BCBA.
